
Alexandra Rose Raisman was born May 25, 1994. She is a retired American artistic gymnast. She served as captain of the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. She was awarded the gold medal at the team competitions during the 2016 Olympics. Gabby Douglas as her teammate also won gold. Raisman also won silver medals for individual all-around and for floor exercise. She is the 3rd most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, behind Shannon Miller and Simone Biles, with six Olympic medals.Raisman was also a member of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships in floor exercise in 2011. She has also been two-time champion of the national team on floor exercise (2012 in 2012 and 2015) she was the 2012 champion of the national team on the balance beam, and five times a medalist in the all-around section at the national championships (silver in 2016, and bronze in 2011 and also in 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
